Dessie Nutt took a convincing win in his Tuthill-prepared 2-litre Porsche 911 on the Ulster Rally last weekend. Co-driven by Geraldine McBride, the pair won every stage, beating two highly capable crews also in 911s, including the current championship leader. A Dessie home win is just what this season has been crying out for: all of us here are delighted with the end result.
The Todd’s Leap Ulster Rally was one of the 2011 events open to FIA Appendix K cars. Five-time British champion Jimmy McRae won the FIA category in another Tuthill 911. Driving an FIA-legal Tuthill Porsche Rally Challenge car, this was Jimmy’s second win on the series this year, putting Jimmy and co-driver Pauline Gullick into the lead of the world’s only solus-Porsche rally series.
What a top Tuthill Porsche weekend! Our next British Historic Rally Championship event is the Trackrod in a few weeks time: see you there!
