It’s the last day of rallying in Australia on the 2014 Sydney-London Marathon. Pictures from the event have been few and far between, but the most recent uploads show our two 911s in good condition and charging hard in the top four, split by just over a minute after 7,000 kilometres of driving and nine full hours (approximately 1,000 kilometres) of stage rallying.
A trio of Datsun Z-cars lead the event as it rounds up down under and prepares for airlift to Turkey tomorrow. Restarting on April 25th, leg three of the rally takes the cars and competitors from Ankara to Rijeka, in Croatia.
Travelling through Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia before coming through Italy, France and into England for the final stages will clock up more than 6,000 kilometres with an average of 100 stage kilometres per day.
100 kilometres a day doesn’t sound like much, but with still more than 1,500 hard-fought stage kilometres left to run, it can mean the difference between finishing the event and going home early! Let’s hope our teams stay focused and keep the cars safe to get the best chance of a podium finish.
