Spark Models recently released a 1/43rd scale model of the Tuthill Porsche 997 R-GT. Dressed in the livery run on WRC Rallye France-Alsace 2014, where the 911 was driven by François Delecour and Dominique Savignoni, it recalls an event that did not work out completely as planned, but we are nonetheless proud to see our car reproduced in miniature.
We’ve bought a couple of models and the detail is impressive. A few details are not quite 100% but nothing to worry about: the Tuthill Porsche 997 R-GT model would make a really great present for a fan of Porsche rallying or of the Tuthill Porsche team.
We’ve tried to buy a batch in for stock, but Spark are not the most responsive company so not heard anything back. We hadn’t heard of their plans to build these models and only spotted them on sale via eBay. A few UK sellers are offering the Tuthill Porsche R-GT models, but ours came from an eBay seller in France, with free shipping.
More R-GT models are in the works: we’ll let you know when they become available. If you’ve bought an R-GT model and are anywhere near the Rallye du Valais at the end of this month, bring to our service unit and have it autographed! We will be there for the final round of the FIA R-GT Cup 2015.
