Howard Redhouse, winner of the 2014 Mini Tour Britannia in a Tuthill Porsche 911, will return to defend his title in 2015.
Tour Britannia organisers report a fantastic response from competitors since the launch of the 2015 Irish edition: Tour Ireland. Running from May 13-15, the event will start in North Wales before crossing the Irish Sea for some closed-road stages.
“It certainly seems that the chance to go to Ireland and compete on closed public roads has kicked off a great deal of interest,” said organiser Alec Poole. “There is a real buzz among our regular competitors and we’re getting a great deal of interest from crews looking to compete for the first time.”
Among the early entries is the Tuthill Porsche competitor, Howard Redhouse. Winner of the 2014 Mini Tour in one of our 3-litre rally cars from the Below Zero Ice Driving stable, the 2015 tour is a return to home soil for Howard, who hails from Slane in County Meath. Organiser Alec is a Dubliner, so the Irish craic should be mighty on the 2015 event.
Tuthill Porsche has 911 rally cars available to arrive and drive on the tour and give Howard a run for his money! Many regular contenders have confirmed their 2015 Tour Britannia entry, with new participants also considering the Irish Tour. The event retains the tried and tested format of a Competition section running alongside a Regularity event, so there is something for everyone.
Known for good fun and strong camaraderie, Tour Britannia keeps a tight rein on entries and usually sells out.
