The EB Motorsport Porsche 911 RSR is currently in the Tuthill Porsche body shop, for a cosmetic spruce-up ahead of the 2013 World Sportscar Masters season.
Built by our team here at Wardington, this super 911 has won the World Sportscar Masters series for the last two years in succession. The series is now FIA-sanctioned, so the competition is expected to be even tougher. EB Motorsport is pulling out all the stops, and bringing its sharpest act to the start line.
Two years of tough competition have taken their toll on this 911’s Light Yellow paint. There’s a repair to do on one rear arch, where it was hit by a spinning Ford GT40 at Silverstone Classic last year, and one front arch also suffered damage in a dogfight with McLaren at Porto.
Our John and Joe will tidy the paintwork around the torsion bar holes from test sessions in 2011 and 2012, and also fit EB’s RSR front wings, as the car has run its first-guise ST front wings for the last two seasons.
EB have fitted new front and rear bumpers and one of their special front splitters to tidy the extremeties, and we’re adding welded jacking points underneath, to make tyre changes easier in the pits. With stone chips and baked-on flies to remove, it’s easier to paint the whole lot.
EB Motorsport begins its campaign for 2013 at Oulton Park this weekend, where the WSM competitors will run their cars in a pre-season warm-up, ahead of the proper season start next month. There’s a small surprise coming at Oulton in the shape of another Tuthill 911, as well as the Guards Red 3.0 RS we built for the team last year. More news later!
