Here’s some nice video from the recent Haspengouw Historic Rally in Belgium.
Glenn Janssens campaigned his all-new 3.5-litre Tuthill 911 with our new clutchless manual ‘dog box’ for the first time and brought the car home in a well deserved second place, behind the Escort Mark 2 of local hero Dirk Deveux, who lives just up the road from the rally.
The 911 beat the Escort on three of the nine stages in this Belgian Championship event, but as the video shows, many parts of the course were extremely slippy from mud and water. Tyre choice and a bit of local knowledge played a big part in getting the traction down and knowing where some advantage could be taken.
The new gearbox performed beautifully throughout the event. Reliability is our number one concern here and things look very good on that front. We’ll keep you up to date on developments: this could be a great year for new ideas in Classic Porsche.
