Tuthill Porsche at Wardington recently enjoyed the company of Jerry Hughes’ spotless 911 regularity car. The 911 has been in our ‘family’ for a while: Jerry is the second owner since the car was built at Tuthills a few years ago.
The car was in to sort a fuel system problem which popped up on a recent event: an event where the only two 911s competing both suffered technical issues leading to retirement. That must be almost unheard of! The 911 runs well now though and Jerry is looking forward to future rallies – if he can find a navigator. If you’re interested in talking to the driver about his vacancy, please let us know.
Though Jerry has a set of Fuchs for the car, it is currently sporting these attractive Minilites in 6″ widths all round. The car also has 7-inch Minilites for the rear but, as MSA regs dictate 70-series rubber, they cannot be used in all events. This is a common problem for historic competitors, which may be alleviated by some recent tyre announcements. Watch this space.
Irish Green is a rare colour in the UK; we know of very few British cars in this shade. Only one other customer car springs to mind, and that is a 914/6. Green cars are not to everyone’s taste but, with the gold wheels and under a bright blue sky, the combination couldn’t be any more perfect!
