Tuthill Porsche clients, Federico Polese and Lucia Scognamiglio, recently made their international rally debut on the 2018 Morocco Historic Rally. We’re delighted to report that, after six days of competitive rallying, the duo came home P17 overall and set some excellent stage times: amongst the top four in class on occasion.
Federica and Lucia were competing in their brand new Tuthill Porsche 911 rally car on only its second outing since its maiden event: the recent Plains Rally. Built to our Safari spec and supported in North Africa by Gary and Jack – two of our experienced Safari Rally technicians – the car was well able to cope with the tricky terrain and delivered a reliable run through all six days.
Day three began with a minor off-piste excursion, but the damage was not too severe and the drivers completed the day’s remaining stages, closing out the first half of the rally P20 overall. Everything went without a hitch from here to the finish and the pair came home inside the top twenty: P17 overall and eighth in a very competitive class.
Well done to our intrepid adventurers for embracing a fantastic challenge in Morocco! We look forward to the next step en route to a full Safari experience at some stage in the future.
