Christmas 2014 is bittersweet for Tuthill Porsche, as it is our first Christmas without Björn Waldegård: the original World Rally champion and winner of numerous events in Tuthill 911s.
In memory of their rally legend, the organisers of Rally Sweden have built a tribute site to Björn at www.thestar.se, where fans can light a virtual star for Björn. For every star lit in honour of one of the greatest drivers rallying has ever seen, the organisers will donate 1 SEK to Cancer Research, up to a maximum of 20,000 SEK.
There are currently 5,375 stars lit on the website, so we need many more to hit the target and reach the maximum donation. Light a star for Björn and use the website tools to share your experience on social media. Encourage your friends and fellow petrolheads to light their own star, and prove your support for the fight against cancer. Don’t put it off – do it now!
Rally Sweden runs from February 12-15, 2015. This superb rally is one of our absolute favourite WRC events, so we would love to be there but a quick resolution in our R-GT gravel spec case is unlikely. We’ll keep you up to date with progress.
