Brian Redman drives Tuthill Porsche at Goodwood Revival

Porsche legend, Brian Redman, drives a Tuthill-prepared Porsche 904 Carrera GTS in the RAC TT Celebration at the Goodwood Revival

We’re delighted to add the great Brian Redman to the list of former Porsche works drivers to enjoy a Tuthill-prepared Porsche, thanks to a guest drive in David Clark’s 904 Carrera GTS at the recent Goodwood Revival.

Redman is a legend for Porsche fans, as the Lancastrian was amongst Ferry Porsche’s favourite pilots back in the day. Paired with Jo Siffert, Brian claimed one of Stuttgart’s proudest wins, on the 1970 Targa Florio in the Gulf Racing Porsche 908/03.

Both drivers enjoyed a terrific weekend in the vintage Porsche prototype, running in the RAC TT Celebration race against two more 904s. While the 2-litre GTs couldn’t catch the big-block Cobras up front, the inter-Porsche battle around this challenging circuit was super competitive.

Two qualifying sessions went well, with a best time of 1:33.297 in Q2 making them fastest of the three 904s. Starting on the 11th row of the grid, the duo delivered a perfect performance in the race, leading the 904s home and setting a fastest race lap almost two seconds quicker than the next best-placed Porsche.

The weekend could not have gone better for the cool 904 and its season is not over yet. Next stop is Wiltshire in early October for the Castle Combe Autumn Classic, followed by a flight to the Arabian Gulf for the Bahrain GT Festival at the end of November!
