Anthony Galliers-Pratt recently made his rally debut alongside long-time Tuthill Safari team member, Peter Lythell. We’ve looked after Peter’s own rally car for decades, so as an experienced rally competitor, he’s the perfect guide and co-driver on Anthony’s first forays into rallying as part of the progression to gaining an international licence.
The driver’s first Tuthill Porsche experience was on a private rally test in Wales. After the test, he decided to start with a racing 911 and commissioned us to build a wonderful 2-litre car in Aga Blue. However, the rally dream never dimmed, so we are delighted to help by using our tried and tested process that has taken several drivers from racing to rallying.
Our dynamic duo has so far taken part in Rally North Wales, Caerwent Stages and Severn Valley Stages and all has gone swimmingly. As for the chosen rally car, what better Porsche to kick off a rally career in than the ex-Björn Waldegård Safari winner: fully prepped for rallies at every level. With its incredible provenance and proven ability, this 911 is more than capable of delivering excitement. Björn would no doubt be pleased to see his winning 911 helping a new rally driver gain a foothold on the competition ladder.
